Objective: A position that is challenging, which will use my many years of managerial and technical skills in software design, programming real-time applications, and operating systems.
Experience:
| October 1995- Present | ABC Company, Sunnyvale, CA |
| Senior Software Engineer IV / Program Manager |
Involved in a new commercial product involving a Portable Digital Transmission Analyzer for cable television equipment (QAMalyzer). Software design and implementation for the 87C52 (8031/8051) and communication interface with DSP - C44 cpu and IBM PC. Implemented GUI LCD display Bios functions, LCD to printer interface (Epson, Postscript), RamDisk file system logic. Programming in C for 8051, DSP cpu’s, IBM PC & SUN workstation. Design interface with SUN Sparc 20 using SUNOS and PC using DOS and Windows.
Involved in a new commercial venture involving Cellular voice communications. Software design and implementation for the IBM 486 and interface with DSP - dual C31 cpu boards. Programming in C and assembly code for both PC and DSP computers. Design and programmed interface with SUN Sparc 20 using Solaris V2.4 and also SUNOS. Design and programmed system for SUN to handle cellular signals and interact with a relational database for real-time decisions.
| January 1992 - October | 1995 DEF, Inc., San Jose, CA |
| Senior Software Engineer |
Involved in a new venture involving Cellular voice communications. Software design and implementation for the IBM 486 and interface with DSP - C31 cpu boards. Programming in C and assembly code for both PC and DSP computers. Initial system using MS-DOS 6.2 and then porting system to a UNIX System 5 -Ver 4.2 (Real-Time VENIX) for the PC system. Designed communication interface between PC and DSP cpu’s.
Involved in a large embedded system using the 68020 and 68HC11 cpu chips. System interface with SUN workstations using several communication interfaces - FDDI, MultiBus, RS485. Interfaced with VRTX embedded operating system using Ada, C, and assembly languages. Modified and implemented code for system communication device drivers on embedded system and interface program on SUN workstation. Involved with new project using the RISC IDT-R3081 (MIPS) cpu for a Ada system using the operating system VADSCross. Other languages involved are C and RISC assembly language. Assisted incorporating C++ into a prototype project.
Modified and completed a communication system using the 68HC11 cpu. This involved code and debug firmware for communication over the ISIS network system.
| March 1990 - January 1992 | GHI, LTD, Fremont, CA |
| Senior Scientist/Integration Lead |
Managed integration of a large real-time project involved in C on MVAX (VMS 5.4) and HP 375 UNIX (HP-UX 7.0) systems. Systems involve networking interfaces (DECNET, TCP/IP), X-Windows CRT interfaces (MOTIF) and general operating system interfaces. Interacted and assisted developers with design and development of product.
| June 1984 - February 1990 | JKL Corporation, Santa Clara, CA |
| Senior Member of Technical Staff/Task Leader |
Advised top management about the technical aspects of CPU performance, project design and research into advanced architecture, such as FDDI communications. The scope of expertise included Systems Engineering, Program Management, Software/Firmware and Hardware. Responsible for design and development of prototype program on IBM PC and VAX computers.
| September 1979 - May 1984 | MNO Company, Sunnyvale, CA |
| Software Manager/Principal Programmer |
Designed Software/Firmware for a new Venture Energy Control Company. Specified, coded and implemented firmware for embedded controller systems using LSI 11,8085, 8086 and 68000 CPU's. Wrote multi-task operating system, I/O drivers, communication handlers, CRT interface, math functions and specialized task functions. Interfaced with CPU hardware designer and Sensor designer to produce a new product. Responsible for Pcode interpreter/compiler for IBM PC (using PASCAL, C, Assembly languages). Heavy interface with DOS and BIOS functions.
