Health, Dental and Vision Insurance

All full-time employees [contractors who complete an average of thirty (30) or more hours a week] are eligible to participate in AESI's Health, Dental and Vision plans.

AESI's health insurance benefit plan offers a choice between Blue Shield of California and *Kaiser. Blue Shield offers three plan choices, HMO (Health Maintenance Organization), POS (Point of Service) and PPO (Preferred Provider Organizations) plan. Kaiser offers a HMO plan.

Dental, Life, AD&D and LTD insurance coverage is offered through Jefferson Pilot. Vision insurance coverage is available through Vision Service Plan (VSP).

Your health, dental and vision benefit becomes effective on the first of the month following a 30-day waiting period. For these benefits, AESI will pay 50% of the premium. The balance can be automatically deducted through payroll after you are enrolled in the plan.

*Kaiser coverage currently available in California and Colorado.

Life, Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D), and Long Term Disability (LTD) Insurance

All full-time employees [contractors who complete an average of thirty (30) or more hours a week] are eligible to participate in AESI's Life, AD&D, and LTD insurance plans.

Each full-time employee may elect to be covered by $50,000 of Group Term Life Insurance. This insurance is payable in the event of your death from any covered cause, at any time or place, while you are employed by AESI. Payment will be made to your beneficiary, as designated by you. Employees are eligible for these benefits on the first of the month following a 30-day waiting period.

As part of the life insurance, each full-time employee is covered by an additional $50,000 of Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance. This insurance is payable in the event of a loss of life, limb, or sight as a result of accidental injury, while you are employed by AESI. Payment will be made to your beneficiary, as designated by you.

If the employee chooses to be covered by Life Insurance and AD&D, the employee is also covered by a Long-term Disability (LTD) insurance plan. This plan is designed to act as a safety net: to provide you with a level of income when you are totally disabled and cannot work.

Flexible Compensation Cafeteria Plan (Section 125 Plan)

This plan allows you to pay for various types of medical, dependent care and other qualified expenses with pre-tax dollars. By using pre-tax dollars for these expenses you can in effect lower your state and federal tax brackets. AESI offers three levels of the Flexible Compensation Cafeteria Plan, examples of these expenses that can be paid through the Plan are as follows:

  • Health Insurance Premiums for dependents
  • Un-reimbursed Health Expenses such as medical deductibles, medical co-payments, vision care, eye glasses, Chiropractor care, prescription drugs, routine exams as well as anything that is required by your doctor.
  • Dependent Care Expenses such as Daycare

Our Flexible Compensation Cafeteria Plan has a waiting period of only thirty (30) days after your first day of work with AESI. Enrollment is offered on the first of every month for all employees. Note: You do not have to elect health and dental insurance through AESI to be eligible for this benefit.

Flexible Time-off

AESI offers each full-time employee (a contractor working a minimum of 30 hours per week) PTO (Paid Time Off)! Vacation, sick days, bereavement and jury duty are considered to be PTO. You will begin to accrue PTO after your first six months of uninterrupted service, at an annual rate of 40 hours (monthly accrual of 3.33 hours). After two years of employment accrual will increase to 80 hours a year (monthly accrual of 6.67 hours). This gives you time to relax and extra spending money to enjoy !

401(k) Savings Plan

AESI offers a premier 401(k) plan through Prudential Investments. This plan will allow you to save money on a pre-tax basis and the earnings on these investments are tax deferred. Our 401(k) plan has a waiting period of only 180 days after your first day of employment with AESI. Enrollment is offered on a quarterly basis (January 1st, April 1st, July 1st and October 1st).

Referral Bonuses

AESI offers referral bonuses to any team members referring a candidate who is successfully hired. Referrals can be professional or personal. See our Referral Program page for more information.

Direct Deposit

Another added benefit AESI offers their employees is direct deposit for their paychecks. Having direct deposit is an added convenience so that contractors do not have to stop by the office, go to the bank or wait for the US Postal Service. This benefit will go into effect fourteen (14) days after submitting a completed direct deposit form along with a voided personal check.

Because AESI is a member of the Sunnyvale and San Jose Chambers of Commerce, all AESI employees and their families are now eligible for membership at a range of Bay Area credit unions.* Enjoy lower fees, better interest on savings programs, and lower rates on loan products than you might find at other financial institutions.
