Albin Engineering is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with experience in network security design, and layer 2 or 3 security techniques to work on contract for a leading aerospace company. Will specify flexible, dynamic assigned software modem requirements, perform evaluation of potential suppliers, perform hardware/software architectural trades and manage development by a third party supplier.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Trade modem implementation against system requirements
- Assist vendors in trading hardware/software architectures and technologies to provide the appropriately flexible capability in the most suited (highest reliability, least power, and cost effective) implementation
- Assess processing requirements
- Evaluate efficiencies (Power, mass and speed) of potential architectures
- Assess technology risks and manage risk reduction plans
- Prepare design trade white papers and present evaluation and development plans to internal and external customers

Required Experience:
- 8 years of network security design
- Must have knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 security techniques
- Must have experience deploying firewalls and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Security
- BS degree or equivalent in Engineering, computer science or related field. MS degree desirable, PhD degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years related work experience required for BS degree. With MS or PhD degree, minimum 8 or 6 years related work experience required, respectively.
