Albin Engineering is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to work on key software components for satellite communications programs. These components will include reference implementations of the inter-segment interfaces. The software will be used in the development and testing of ground segment software and serve as reference examples to the space segment and terminal segment communities. Must be able to work in a multi-team, multi-vendor development program and successfully collaborate with software designers and/or system engineers in the planning, design, development, documentation and testing of software.

Required Experience:
- BA with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree
- Experience with building Element Management System or GUI based Command Line interface for enterprise class routers and/or SONET switches. Must be familiar with at least one of the industry standard protocols such as SNMP, TL1, or Netconf.
- Familiarity with Java or C++, UML, XML distributed processing, SOAP and WSDL
- Object Oriented software development process, software architecture synthesis, preliminary and critical design reviews
- Documentation of software architecture and design including UML diagrams including Use Case Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, Class Diagrams and, Deployment Diagrams
Desired Experience:
- Understanding of the full software development life cycle
- Distributed processing using protocols such as CORBA, RMI or SOAP
- Prior experience with the Eclipse development environment, Rational Software Architect, Clear Case Configuration Management, coding standards, code inspections and unit testing
- Familiarity with DoD requirements, specifications and interface control documentation.
