Albin Engineering is looking for a Database Administrator. This is a full-time, direct position in a dynamic and innovative start-up environment.
Your responsibilities will focus on service delivery: designing, implementing, and maintaining a best-in-class infrastructure. You will work across functional boundaries, contribute to process development, and be on call. The DBA position is a classic DBA role with a healthy dose of administration duties (backup, installation, change management, monitoring... ) and a moderate portion of Design/Architect work based upon skill/interest level. Position reports to Director of Operations.

Required Experience:
- Solid knowledge of MySQL 5.x and Innodb
- Solid knowledge of physical and logical database design
- Solid knowledge in Schema design principals
- Experience administering Mysql (backup, monitoring, security, installation) in a many instance environment
- Experience with database change management as part of Release process
- Proficiency in a scripting language (preferably Perl)
- Experience designing scalable and HA database systems
- Ability to work with the Engineering and Operations team
Desired Experience:
- Innate knowledge of Linux/Solaris performance
- LVM (Logical Volume Management) or Disk Suite
- Perl
- Nagios
- Cacti
- Subversion
- Storage Engines PBXT, Archive, Falcon, etc.
